So basically maildrop is trying to communicate with courier's authdameon (cyrus 
?) and it can't do this when it is called from within postfix, for reasons I 
can't understand.

I installed a packaged version and none of the options were already picked for 
me, so I tried both the setuid and the world-readable/executable authdaemon 
directory and both worked (finally). I have no idea which one is considered 
better though ?
