Good morning all

I was wondering if it is possible to run the imap daemon as a different user...perhaps something like courier or who knows what else.  Having it run as root might cause some problems for me.  Are there any disadvantages to running it as a different user?  Any suggestions on how to do this?  I am going to need that user to automatically get afs tokens every so often so that it can access the users maildirs.  Any help would be appreciated :)

ISTR it being an option to ./configure, something like:

./configure —with-mail-user=courier —with-mail-group=courier

I can’t recall exactly what the option is but hopefully that will point you in the right direction.
