Hello,
I've been beating my head against the desk trying to figure out exactly whats
going on here. I could not get smtp to work at all, after turning BOFHCHECKDNS
off, it now partially works. I'm stumped. Turning that off now allows some
mail servers (yahoo, hotmail) to deliver mail. However, telnetting in to the
server on port 25 does absolutely nothing. I've tried doing it locally and
remotely. I made sure inetd isnt spawning something else. I tried (quite
unsuccessfully) using tcpdump to watch and see exactly how yahoo was making a
success out of it. I've tried netscape 6.2, mozilla 097+, outlook express 6,
outlook 2002, in various configurations of w||w/o username & password, ssl/tls,
and spa. No matter what i do, logging in via telnet and typing EHLO doesn
absolutely nothing, and all the mail clients sit there and time out.
Any ideas, or steps i should take for for further information?
Thanks,
Gabriel Wilkins
