I'm stuck! I use courier version 1.4.2 + qmail on Redhat 6.1
I completely recompile Courier Imap with
--enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-bugs configure option
I also use --without-authpgsql because make check gives me an error on this
module
All other option are default ones exept in
/usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/authdaemonrc
where I change authmodulelist="authpam"
The correct /etc/pam.d/imap is in place.

My problem pertain a lot of different error message testing using Eudora
5.1 Netscape 4.7 and Mozilla 0.9.8.
Some of the error regard directory creation (subfolder of INBOX.) or
listing is well described in BUGS section
of courier-IMAP site but other is new:

In Eudora I have this error message:
1- <Dominant>, Checking for new messages in mailbox "INBOX"..., [02:47:18 PM]
Operation Failed:
2- <Dominant>, Resynchronizing mailbox "less"..., [02:48:51 PM]
Operation Failed:
3-IMAP connection broken
4-No message were transferred (but new message arrives)
5-Double email arrives (without any alias/filter reasons)
6-No mark for read when I restart Eudora
Finally sometimes Eudora crash!

In Mozilla 0.98 there is minor problem with
--enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-bugs but
I wasn't enable to view email in a sub-sub-directory for example
.dir1.sub1.sub2 from user Maildir/

Netscape 4.7 show me truncated and duplicated name in directory
and as far I can view email inside it pop up an error message:
"current command did not succeed, The mail server responded: Invalid mailbox"
I have to completely restart with /usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/imapd.rc
stop and start

Conclusion:
If I frequently restart the daemon Eudora and others client seems to have
less error message:
Have I to setup a cron job every 5 minutes for restart of
imapd.rc?????!!!!!!!!!??????

Please help! I'm running out off ideas and a lot of user start calling me
for these error.

thank you
Eli Spizzichino
