I’m having a problem getting the virtual users authenticated. I’m new to courier and I’ve have spent all day on the website looking at the man pages and trying to figure out how to get this stuff to work. Let me give some information about my setup. I don’t know what options where installed through my hosting provider. But I have multiple domain names, and I’m trying to create email accounts with out create user accounts on the box itself. I use the userdb command like the following:

userdb domain/<newuser_name> set mail=/home/mail/domain/users/<newuser_name>

I also run the makeuserdb to make sure the user is in the database. I set the password. I open up Outlook and put in the pop and smtp server name. I put in the username in this instance it is test, and the password of test. I also use the userdbpw to set the password to test. But I get authentication failed when trying to connect. I trying to connect using pop3.

I’ve check the authmodulelist and there is only authdaemon, but in authdaemonrc it has authuserdb and authpam. Can I just add authuserdb to the modulelist and if not, how can I check to see if that module is installed on the system?

Thanks for any help in advance.

James
