I've got a relatively new Courier server (0.37) on SuSE Linux 7.2 (kernel
2.4.4-4GB). Everything is working fine for around 200 users - imap, pop3,
smtp, webmail apart from one thing. We're using shadow authentication.

I have two problems.

The first is with mail filtering. I want users to be able to set up
out-of-office replies using webmail. They are currently able to set up
filters, and the .mailfilter file appears in the user's home directory, and
knowing what little I do of the cyntax, looks OK, but the file doesn't seem
to be getting hit. I think I've checked all the stuff on the web site about
setting up filtering...

/usr/lib/courier/etc/maildirfilterconfig contains

        MAILDIRFILTER=../.mailfilter
        MAILDIR=./Maildir

and '/usr/lib/courier/etc/maildrop' contains

        /usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop

which looks consistent.

Finally, '/usr/lib/courier/etc/enablefiltering' contains

        esmtp local

Can anyone offer any suggestings as to what I might have missed, or whether
I shoudl look out for anything in the logs to say that maildrop has
processed a particular message whilst delivery was being made?

Finally, (and I suspect this one is just me being thick!), misaddressed
posts are getting bounced. I'd like to have them delivered to postmaster.
Postmaster is set up in the /usr/lib/courier/etc/aliases/system directory,
and I know my other aliases are getting processed correctly. Might I have
missed a configuration flag somewhere in the setup perhaps?

TAI for any help received.
