I've done this, and it's all working properly. I don't think the uid/gid
is a problem (yet), because mailman isn't even being called. I've also
tried creating .test_list* files in /etc/courier/aliases, but
makealiases isn't even generating them (according to a "strings
aliases.dat")... Is this a problem?

It seems like courier isn't parsing the alias and recognising that it
should be piped through a program. Is there any way to test if this is
working at all, or are there any permissions/security options that might
need to be set?

If not, I'll have to use a different mta. Is postfix+courier-imapd/popd a
good choice for ldap-based virtual hosting? I quite like the way courier
handles its config files (as compared to postfix, at least), and I'd
rather use it if possible. <sigh>
