I'm trying to determine if Courier IMAP could be used to provide IMAP
access to a user that already has multiple Maildirs. For example, my
home directory on my qmail server contains a directory structure similar
to this:
Home (dir)
.qmail
.qmail-mailing-list-1
.qmail-mailing-list-2
.qmail-mailing-list-3
Mail (dir)
Maildir (dir)
Maildir-mailing-list-1 (dir)
Maildir-mailing-list-2 (dir)
Maildir-mailing-list-3 (dir)
Basically, I subscribe to mailing lists with a unique email address such
as pete-mailing-list-1, and then configure qmail to deliver all mail
from that mailing list to its own Maildir. Currently, I use mutt
locally on the server to read my email, and have it configured with all
of the above Maildirs.
I'd like to provide myself with IMAP access to my server, and I wanted
to know if Courier IMAP could handle this type of situation. I've read
many of the docs, and searched the archive for this topic, but have been
unable to determine if this is possible.
I should mention that I don't want to use the authuserdb mechanism to
associated multiple usernames (one for each of my Maildirs) as I don't
want to have that many tcp connections to my server. I have about 50+
Maildirs and this just doesn't scale. Any other ideas?
Thank you in advance.
Pete
