Changes since the previous release:
* An overhauled configuration script based on an updated gnu toolchain: gcc 3.2, automake 1.6, autoconf 2.53, libtool 1.4
* IMAP enhancement - realtime folder status updates based on an enhanced IMAP IDLE extension on platforms that have SGI's File Alteration Monitor installed (currently includes Linux and Irix). This is actually pretty nifty - if multiple supported clients have the same folder opened, changes to the folder's contents by one client are immediately reflected by all other clients, and all clients are immediately notified when new mail arrives.
I managed to find an old laptop with Win 95 and MSOE 4.0. After MSOE opened the folder, I then used another client to mark/unmark messages for deletion; MSOE's folder index obediently updated itself in realtime in response to every operation; as well as reflecting any new mail added to the folder.
According to FAM's documentation this still works with NFS; the FAM daemon on the NFS client will talk to the FAM daemon on the NFS server. Also, according to FAM's documentation, on platforms without a supported kernel monitor FAM will fallback to a polling mode; so this should still work somewhat on BSDs, but with a few seconds' delay.
* Webmail/IMAP: handle RFC 2231-encoded mail headers
* The dotlock utility replaced by lockmail, with better legacy mbox lock support
* POP3 STLS extension
* Webmail: request delivery confirmation receipts
* Miscellaneous bug fixes and other minor enhancements.
