That was the general gist of other posts, too- but I have these defined.
They are the defined in similar fashion for ftp, pop on the box. 

Snippet:

#
LDAP_GLOB_UID           mailuser
LDAP_GLOB_GID           mailuser


The Imap server was also compiled with the flags 

--with-mailuser=mailuser
--with-mailgroup=mailuser 

Would this create conflict?
