this includes 2 problems:

1) not all clients are capable of doing so (including microsoft outlook,
   only ms outlook express can - don't ask me, why!)
2) users are required to configure it - and are able to remove it from the
   configuration (and then accuse the sysadmin of having changed the
   config!)
