The file does not exist, however I've noticed that in the 1.4.4 release
the file is created during 'make check'.

Have you checked to see if the file exists?

I posted this to the list a few days ago but I'd like to provide a bit
more information in the hope that someone can suggest where I am going
wrong.
I'm trying to upgrade Courier-IMAP from 1.4.4 to 1.6.1 on two
different
systems, running RH7.0 and RH7.1, GNU Make 3.79.1, gcc 2.96.
In both cases 1.4.4 compiles fine with no problems. With 1.6.1 the
configure script runs through fine with no errors but when I do 'make
check' I get the following:
Making check in maildir
make[1]: Entering directory
`/usr/local/src/courier/courier-imap-1.6.1/maildir'
Compiling autoresponse.c
autoresponse.c:7:38: autoresponsequota.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [autoresponse.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/usr/local/src/courier/courier-imap-1.6.1/maildir'
make: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
I have been over the install instructions and FAQ many times to see if
I've missed anything, all requirements are met, I'm untarring, running
configure and 'make check' as a non-root user and I've tried starting
from scratch in a new source directory several times.
I'd be grateful if someone could suggest why this might be occurring
and what I can do to overcome it.
