For hours (spread over several days) I have been
puzzeled by my authentication via mysql problem.
(I could get authenticated by authshadow but not via
authmysql. All logs (including the mysql query log)
showed the authmysql daemon was not querying mysql at
all)

I have posted my problem read all documents again and
still coudn't get to the bottum of the problem and fix
it.
Until I stumbled on a posting recently, mentioning
there should be no white spaces afther the servername
in authmysqlrc !
I felt stupid and happy at the same time.... it was
the problem and easy to fix.

As I might not be the only one experiencing this
problem I would like to mention the following
suggestions.
1) mention the white space problem somewhere in the
documentation
2) Add it to the faq
3) make the authenticatin modules a little more
verbose. It would reduce the time spend looking for
problems drastically (maybe you can get the
authentication modules more verbose, but I couldn't
find anything else except the DEBUG_LOGIN entry in
/usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd)

Anyway, I'm glad I got it working now...... it's
great.
thanks.
Onno
