I have a problem, where Courier has stopped logging to /var/log/maillog

This all started when I removed that log, to get a fresh start, assuming
courier would create it again. It didn't..

I touch'ed that file, set it to the exact perms of another working courier
install, and still no info is being logged..

I rpm -e'd all courier files, removed /etc/courier, removed
/usr/lib/courier, and reinstalled (then copied my old /etc/courier configs
over), still no joy

Lastly, I did the above, but this time did NOT add my old configs to the
mix, and sent a msg to the server. STILL no logging.

Anyone have any pointers for me here? The server functions completely
normally, other than not logging any data whatsoever... I don't see any
capacity to change the logged-to filename, so I can't see what I could have
done to all of a sudden stop Courier from logging..

Kinda sux, b/c now when I reject mail I have no idea what the server was, or
who the user was, or what blacklist was used, etc. I sure would like to
solve this problem..

TIA,
