I had run Courier on FreeBSD for about 3 years now without a problem, I
recently moved my mail server to Fedora Core 1, and now I'm plagued with
strange problems.

#1) Sometimes, the Authdaemon does not die or timeout, but tells me
authentication is wrong (using authpam) even when nothing's changed.. "
LOGIN FAILED, ip=[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]" A stop and restart of courier makes
it go away..

#2) I started getting this yesterday:
"502 ESMTP command error" all of a sudden. I've touched nothing on the
server, it works fine and then all of a sudden, it gives this error on
the send side..

#3) When the send error occurs, then afterwards, it starts having a
receive error.. "450 Service temporarily unavailable."

All these are fixed (for about 4-8 hours) with a stop and restart..

Sam, any ideas? Where should I start to look to trap this?

Thanks.
Albert
