I've recently upgraded my openldap to fairly much the latest OpenLDAP release.
Everything went very smoothly, even with our heavy python-ldap requirements.
However, I note I've had to change the Courier objectClass definitions to STRUCTURAL rather than AUXILIARY as they were earlier.
You may wish to reflect this in the source code.
