Why setting "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL" environment variable helps?
I've been told that there can be problems if your userspace expects NPTL and your kernel doesn't support it. Are you using a Red Hat kernel?
Strictly speaking Linux distribution name is "ASP Linux 9", that is fully compatible with RedHat 9 (based on it).
Kernel in accordance based on RedHat 9 kernel 2.4.20-xx.
Are you using a CPU that doesn't support NPTL (i386)?
Pentium4 2.8 GHz HT
