Ok, I have MySQL-devel installed, which is the MySQL AB made rpm.
I wanted to use the MySQL AB ones so that I have MySQL 4.0. Fedora
doesn't have 4.0 available yet. I appretiate the suggestion though.

OK, then search for mysql_config in authlib/config.log. I have a machine with no mysql-devel (and, hence, no "mysql_config" in the path), and a few lines look like this:

configure:6757: checking for mysql_config
configure:6790: result: no
configure:6811: checking for mysql_connect
configure:6861: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall -I.. -I./.. conftest.c >&5
/tmp/cc0KRPEE.o(.text+0x11): In function `main':
/home/gordon/src/rpmroot/SOURCES/courier-0.45.5/authlib/configure:6879: undefined reference to `mysql_connect'
/tmp/cc0KRPEE.o(.data+0x0):/home/gordon/src/rpmroot/SOURCES/courier-0.45.5/authlib/configure:6878: undefined reference to `mysql_connect'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

What's yours look like?
