Ok, I have MySQL-devel installed, which is the MySQL AB made rpm. I wanted to use the MySQL AB ones so that I have MySQL 4.0. Fedora doesn't have 4.0 available yet. I appretiate the suggestion though.
OK, then search for mysql_config in authlib/config.log. I have a machine with no mysql-devel (and, hence, no "mysql_config" in the path), and a few lines look like this:
