OK, so the filters are run for every locally delivered message. But can I whitelist some recipients unconditionally, no bloclists applied, or do I have to use BLOCK2. In the latter case, how do I get the corresponding text, what courier returns as the description of the 5xx, so I can print it.
No, I don't think there's any way to do this. What happens if one message comes in, destined for two users, one of whom has the sender whitelisted and the other has the sender blacklisted? There's only one chance to reply: either "250 Ok", or "5xx Blacklisted". How I wish someone would do an extension to SMTP that would allow for per-recipient status messages in smtp!
You could look at something like MessageWall which sits before the MTA and restricts inbound messages to only one recipient at a time. But I'm not sure how well it works in practice.
best, Jeff
