I still have problems with maildrop. I will use it out of postfix as pipe (relay=maildrop instead of relay=virtual). But I get this strange error: "user unknown. Invalid user specified.". I have installed the latest authlib and Courier from download-page. Everything seems to be installed ok. As I can see since maildrop 1.8.0 the maildropmysql.conf is useless and Courier-authlibs authmysqlrc seems to be the right one. To test the mysql support I used at commandline: 1. authtest [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> OK 2. jump to /usr/lib/courier/bin and enter: maildrop -V 7 -d [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> OK 3. enter: /usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop -V 7 -d [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> "Invalid user specified"
It seems to me that maildrop can not find the authmysqlrc if I call it from elsewhere. Or some permissions are not ok.
Your confusion is due to the fact that you have two versions of maildrop installed. One that's part of Courier, and the standalone maildrop build.
Since you claim that you're using Postfix, would you mind explaining why you also have Courier installed?
