I had weird problems with Fedora Core 3, which I think were tied to issues with fam/gamin. I don't know all the issues that are tied to different versions. I am by no means an expert. I know for a fact that Courier works well with CentOS 3.3 (when building RPMS) and 3.4 (if you've already built rpms... They won't build on it). Are you running SSL? How much RAM does your server have?
