Still searching the web on this one, but I thought I'd pop a message to the list in case anyone else has had a similar occurrence. I'm on Solaris 9, Courier 0.50.0, and running SGI FAM (from CSW, version 2.6.9).

Sep 19 14:53:27 jeff imapd-ssl: [ID 702911 mail.debug] Connection, ip=[::ffff:166.138.226.##] Sep 19 14:53:31 jeff imapd-ssl: [ID 702911 mail.info] LOGIN, user=###, ip=[::ffff:166.138.226.##], protocol=IMAP Sep 19 14:53:33 jeff fam[26548]: [ID 199860 daemon.error] recvmsg: Message too long
Sep 19 14:54:15 jeff last message repeated 38 times
Sep 19 14:54:16 jeff inetd[###]: [ID 667328 daemon.error] sgi_fam/rpc/tcp server failing (looping), service terminated

I somehow suspect one of my email clients (ChatterEmail, which is going through release candidates for it's 1.1 release), since this problem only started happening in earnest on 9/13.

The one thing I've found unfortunate, is that I can't seem to get FAM to spit out the messages it's actually processing, despite running it in the foreground in debug level. So any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Bill
