Quoting Jay Lee <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I am running courier-0.52.1, on freebsd current. I have serveral
installations with the same configuration and none have problems but on
this machine, I have one user, who was over quota, out of 5 users that
cannot receive mail unless it is sent with a manual telnet on port 25 and
then it is delivered. His ldap quota is 5G quota: 5000000000S.

32-bit archs can only do up to 2 gig quotas. If you're not on a 64-bit
platform, you'll have to either knock that back some or remove it
entirely

Thanks, Jay. I am so tired of him being over quota I didn't even think of 32 bit limitation. I just removed the quota and he is now receiving email.

Thanks much,

Could has
having been over quota have caused a backscatter issue? Any suggestions
will be apreciated.

When local delivery fails a certain number of times, Courier will start
sending "456 Temporary failure" in respons to any more incoming mail for
that user, this prevents an overquota account from filling up the spool
also. Fix the quota issue with local delivery and then run:

/path/to/courier clear [EMAIL PROTECTED]

delivery should start working for that user again, without the courier
clear, it would normally take an hour or two for Courier to realize local
delivery was working and begin accepting external mail for the user again.
