Any sleuthing worth mentioning? 
etc/imapd settings (IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE, MAXDAEMONS, MAXPERIP ...)?

General things to try...
1. On the General tab, uncheck the box "Include this account when 
receiving mail or synchronizing." (seems odd, I know, but try...)
2. On the IMAP tab, uncheck the box "Check for new messages in all 
folders" and press the OK button, followed by the Close button. 
3. Under ´IMAP Folders´, uncheck the box "When displaying hierarchy in 
Outlook, show only subscribed folders" and press the OK button.
