I wouldn't say no too fast.  courier links with OpenSSL, right?  I'm
sure it would be possible to whip up and configure an OpenSSL engine
module that does the work.  Question is how to communicate with it...

Mind you, this is my gut speaking, I haven't really put any thought
into it.  But it does sound like a worthy OpenSSL project to attempt
:-).
