There is no such directory in the default Courier configuration.
Hmm. It's an installation from source.

Well, you can certainly pass an option to the configure script that will install Courier there, or anywhere else. But that's not the default configuration. So, you've definitely specified some configuration script options during installation. But without you explaining exactly what you did, and how, nobody can do anything but guess where things should be and what their permissions should be.

If you claim that you've installed this yourself, from source, then you know what configuration options you used.
