i'm new here, please bear with me, this is my first excursion into Courier.

i'm running SLES10 with postfix, postfixadmin, mysql, amavisd, spamassassin,
clamav, and squirrelmail. and, of course, courier. all of these packages
are the default versions for this distribution except courier and
postfixadmin, since SLES10 doesn't include either of them. it is Courier
4.0.4 and postfixadmin 2.1.0.

okay, the problem is this: i've configured courier to use the mysql
database that postfixadmin is using, but for some reason it's still
authenticating against local passwd/shadow. i'm not sure exactly why it's
doing this, or how to change it. currently the system only has two domains,
the local host domain and one virtual domain.

honestly, i don't have a clue what i did wrong here. i need courier and
postfix to authenticate against the mysql database not the local system, but
i'm not sure where i went wrong in setting this up. i'd really appreciate
some pointers and suggestions.

i've posted about this a couple times on the postfix list, but so far not
one person has responded to any of my posts, so now i've come here looking
for help.

thanks in advance
