i see a serious delay upon message sending.

the following appears in my mail.log, when i send a message to
courier-esmtpd-ssl using thunderbird as MUA:

in /etc/courier/ i have set:

esmtpd:AUTH_REQUIRED=0
esmtpd:ESMTPAUTH="LOGIN CRAM-MD5 CRAM-SHA1 CRAM-SHA256"
esmtpd:ESMTPAUTH_TLS="PLAIN LOGIN CRAM-MD5"
esmtpd-ssl:AUTH_REQUIRED=1

who's to blame here? the client or the server? i don't see an error in
my config...
