You did not post the actual contents of your configuration files, but rather paraphrased their contents and replaced them with randomly-generated labels such as "domain2.com" and "domain3.com".
alias expansion is controlled by a number of configuration files besides the aliases file, such as locals, hosteddomains, default, and me. Without seeing their actual contents, no further help is possible.
