And with the correct user and group (daemon), it worked. What’s the reason for giving read and execute permissions for aliasdir to everyone?I just checked my perms, but, true, you don't really need them.
Actually I just realized -- if localmailfilter is enabled, world r+x is required in order for esmtpd to access .mailfilters
