The -R option should specify /usr/local/lib, where the actual library presumably is, and not /usr/local. Additionally, try adding /usr/local/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH before starting authdaemond. This is not the preferred solution, but just a temporary confirmation as to what your problem is.
