Hi - me again ;)

        Courier-mta is installed and I am running through the tests section
until it failed this one:

sh perftest1 1000 "test1"

1000 messages appeared in the bounced directory and the mailq is empty.
 There are no zombie processes lying around.

$ cat .courier-test-default
./test
$ cat .courier

./bounces

Presuming that "test1" is this account's name, you've sent all the mail to test1, so that mail delivery is controlled by .courier, and that's where all the messages went, where .courier told them to go, to the bounces directory.

Read INSTALL carefully, in this part of INSTALL "user" is the placeholder for the test account's name, which in your case is "test1". So, given the example in INSTALL, the command you should've really executed was sh perftest1 1000 "test1-test-1 test1-test-2 test1-test-3 test1-test-4 test1-test-5"
