to the DOT-Courier file:

I have in my directory /etc/skel (which is used by the adduser progam on
my Debian GNU/Linux computers) i which I create a file .courier

----[ '/etc/skel/.courier' ]----------------
|/usr/bin/preline /usr/bin/procmail
--------------------------------------------

you can even setup the courier standard with

----[ '/etc/skel/.courier' ]----------------
|/usr/bin/maildrop
--------------------------------------------

"procmail" and "maildrop" are MDA's (Mail Delivery Agents) and
responsable for the local filtering.

So, if you have this file installed, whenever you create a new USER on
the system, the file is automaticaly copyed into the ${HOME} of the new
user.

NOTE: If you use "procmail" I suggest you to install a defaut
DOT-procmail because otherwise you can get unexpected results

AFAIK ist this the same as for "maildrop"

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
