Hi fellow co-workers, I'm from Buenos Aires (Argentina) and I'm a so called "Space Catalyst" at the moment. I've been reading the blog, the wiki and this group and I got interested in starting my own cowork space here in Latin America.
I've already found a very nice place to setup the space which is an old building (1915) that is fully recycled last year and has approximately 150 mt2 (1,615 ft2) with an initial capacity of 15 coworkers. If the number increases there are several ways to expand the space. This building is located in the middle of the city, with 3 subway stations nearby and several bus lines and a major train station. So coworkers can come easily by public transportation, although driving by car is really an adventure, parking its almost impossible, expensive and the traffic is really a mess at rush hour. I also have almost the branding chosen and I have a placeholder website with an explanation of the space and coworking in spanish: www.corworkcentral.com. There's also a .com.ar redirecting domain to this web page and the hosting is shared with my design's firm website. At the moment I'm working on the market analysis, to see if local freelancers will apply to this service. So far, my colleagues and freelance friends accepted and liked the idea of the cowork space. I'm following the steps of "CubeSpace", as they said in their business plan, I'm asking people in bars with notebooks to see if they'll apply to the service and it's affordable by them. Also I'm checking costs: rent, internet, telephone, coffee, one employee, etc. I have some doubts though that I'll post later and I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
