If this provides ANY way to get involved with the space program, the nerdy
side of me is interested.

On the other hand, I echo Tony in the fact that...most of the existing
communities probably have space-nerds worth tapping into, and rather than
providing facilities, it'd likely be most effective to provide programs for
existing space members/communities to get involved with. Less work for
everyone, and one step closer to consumer-powered space exploration!
