Hey all, I have exciting news, but first an introduction. I'm Emma Persky and I'm a software engineer for Trampoline Systems here in London, England. I was on the Whuffaoke tour with Alex, Tara and Tony recently, and err, I love adventures.
Anyway. Coworking here in London is something that has been hit and miss traditionally. There is the great Tuttle club initiative (hi lloyd), but this is only once a week, and a bunch of shared office spaces you can use, but certainly nothing that comes close to the kind of coworking environments I saw on the whuffaoke tour... By an amazing co incidence my company suddenly found itself with a vast amount of trendy office space, and have been trying to work out what to do with it... hello coworking. Whilst this isn't official, and we are still working out the details, we had a company discussion today and decided that we would be really up for embracing coworking as a company, and to turn our office into a coworking space. I'm really excited to be leading this project. Yay :) I get the feeling that setting up a coworking space in an existing office is a reasonably unique thing to do, and I'm sure we will face lots of challenges. My goal is to integrate the company as much as possible into the wider space, though I get the feeling a number of my colleagues would rather sit at desks with out tramponauts.... Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Any insights in how to convince existing employees to join the fun as much as possible? Our office is located in Hoxton / Shoreditch area of London, and only a short walk from the city. We don't have an opening date yet, but we will keep you updated.
