I own Cubes&Crayons (not a traditional coworking space because we have drop-in childcare on site.) I do take a modest salary which is starting to grow, although I may give up some of it to funnel back in the business.
Again, we aren't quite the same model in terms of revenue stream. Unlike many other coworking space owners, I do not have a side job. I have young kids (those with kids, get that.) Having said that after 2 years of business, we run well enough for me to take on other projects and am now doing web app development and writing a book and site management is left largely to staff with my focus being primarily on our overall vision and marketing.
