On Sunday I taught my first ever 3-hour intensive coworking workshop, a remarkable sellout first-time event. A *lot* of people have emailed and tweeted asking if I'd be doing it again. Given the crazy-positive feedback that the participants gave during and after the workshop, the answer is most certainly a yes, and I wanted to let the group here know first!
I'm giving more than a week's notice this time. The next virtual "Coworkshop" will be on October 22nd from 1pm-5pm EST, and tickets are on sale right now with some early bird discounts until October 2nd. https://indyhall.stagehq.com/events/1048 I've cut some of the cruft from the material and am adding at least 1 more hour of new content as well, taking the workshop to a solid 4 hours with Q&A. It's still divided into the same 4 main sections: - - How to Market a Coworking Space - An Intro to Community Dynamics - Business Foundations for Coworking - Operating a Coworking Space for the Long Haul This is all practical and pragmatic. No "woo woo" stuff in here. I'm sharing detailed numbers and real world experiences that are the results of our actions & decisions, but I'm also going into detail to explain how and why we chose the actions and made the decisions that we have. This isn't so people can copy Indy Hall, this is so people can be better equipped to make their own decisions while starting and running healthy and successful coworking communities and spaces of their own. If I wanted more Indy Halls, I'd open more Indy Halls. What I want is for more successful and healthy coworking communities *everywhere, *because I am confident of the impact that they will continue to have on the world. The first class consistently gave extremely positive feedback, though they were all in various stages of the development, and hailing from nearly a dozen countries around the world. From the coworking beginner to the seasoned veteran, from anywhere in the world, I'm confident there's value in here for you. Check the testimonials on the ticket page and see what they had to say. It's virtual and can be attended with just a web browser and an internet connection, also recorded for future re-watching - along with high-res slides and a full transcript of the chat-room. The chat room went REALLY well as a highly-focused sounding board for students to share with each other while taking the class. After this next virtual workshop, I'm going to be working on a live workshop option for a smaller and even more hands on learning experience. I've also gotten requests for ongoing supplemental material. If you have specific things you'd like to learn, drop me a line off-list so I can think about it as I'm working on this new material.
