A lot of the goals for my space is to support the community -- both the
internal cowork community and the external community in which we're
located. We are working on creating a "dress for success" type program
where we work with women helping them with resume skills, job etiquette
skills, clothing for the interview, and more. We are starting a free cycle
group where once a month people can bring in the treasures that they no
longer want, and people can pick up things that they want (FREE OF CHARGE).
This helps the community and keeps items out of the landfills. We open our
spaces to home based businesses on the weekends so that they have a place
to showcase their wares -- this also gets people downtown so that the other
stores in the downtown business district benefit by foot traffic as well.
Have also just started working with the high school and their business
class students to provide internships and ways for the kids to put their
textbook learning to real world use. There are a lot of community support
projects that we're focused on and it's an exciting time!
