I have been told that access to example.com has been deliberately blocked, this is not a misconfiguration. I am not at liberty to say why. You may start to find others having problems accessing it.

I Karen,

I have tracked it down. Websense here is blocking access to example.com, which clearly it shouldn't do because that's a legitimate site. I will talk to the people who maintain it.

In the meantime, it's a nice edge case to find.

Hi Nigel,

What is up with these test results from your smokers?

It appears as though you may have some sort of proxy handling network
connections? I'm perplexed, as the tests that are failing are even checking for
an available connection to the site in question, and skips as needed:

https://metacpan.org/source/ETHER/Test-LWP-UserAgent-0.029/t/10-request-args-network.t#L17

Can you explain to me how Test::RequiresInternet reports that example.comL80 is available, and then a GET request to that host is returning an HTML-ified 502
later on?

thanks,

Karen Etheridge
