One week ago there were some cpantesters/metacpan problems of which I was aware of only a small part. Paul Evans reported having released Socket-2.040 to CPAN, but for several hours https://metacpan.org/pod/Socket did not update. @haarg reported on IRC that several services had stopped and that he had re-started them.

I eventually downloaded a tarball from https://www.cpan.org/authors/id/P/PE/PEVANS/Socket-2.040.tar.gz and generated CPANtesters reports for that version on Linux and FreeBSD. The terminal output indicated that the reports had been received, but repeated refreshes of https://metabase.cpantesters.org/tail/log.txt indicated that my reports had not been processed. Similarly, the usually reliable http://fast-matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Socket remained stuck at Socket 2.039, though the usually less reliable http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Socket was showing 2.040 results, albeit with "Reusing old cached file."

Seven days later, http://fast-matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Socket remains stuck at 2.039 but also displays the advisory "NOTE: no report for latest version 2.040". I don't know whether this applies to reports for other CPAN distributions.

So my impression is that our recovery from the problems of July 15 is incomplete. Could these be investigated? Thank you very much.
