This problem seems to be caused by the fact that the module mistakenly thinks that the pdf* executables are available when in fact they aren't. Apparently the check I made does not work under Solaris.
I will shortly be uploading a new version with a different check. I have no doubt the Smokehouse will pick that up and report again if there is a problem.
So this issue can be closed for now.
