This looks like a german opening double quote (lower).
How can I get rid of it? What is the source of the problem?
Note that up to now, CPS supports characters that exist in iso-latin9 only. This one exists in MS' cp1252 'western' encoding, but not in iso-latin9.
The only way to get rid of it would be to fall back to english double quotes.
