3. Crowds Flock to the Corel Booth at LinuxWorld Expo New York and LinuxExpo Paris
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Corel booth was the place to be at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in New York
and LinuxExpo Paris, both of which ran from Jan. 31 - Feb. 2. Visitor and media
attention was high as Corel demonstrated its products and spoke of its efforts to
truly unleash the power of Linux.

President & CEO Derek Burney delivered a keynote speech in New York where he
addressed Corel's future plans for Corel LINUX OS and his vision for a complete,
end-to-end Linux solution.

Rene Schmidt, Corel's executive vice-president of Linux products, gave a similarly
well-received keynote in Paris to over 600 people.

A big thanks to everyone who visited the Corel booth at these shows. We hope you
had as much fun learning about our products as we had demonstrating them for you.

6. Linux 2.4: The Latest Stable Kernel Version is Here at Last!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The much-anticipated update to the Linux kernel is here at last. On January 4, Linus
Torvalds and the worldwide collective of programmers who develop the Linux kernel
delivered the final release of the long-awaited code for version 2.4, which is now
available for download at:
http://ri-r1.corel.com/servlet/click?9hkLsDXXEJRioLkiNgrlFmhHKDJhtE0ErLkgLshkn

Kernel 2.4 includes several improvements for desktop use, most notably the support for
a multitude of printers, digital cameras, scanners, keyboards, mice, network cards,
modems, Zip drives and other devices that plug into the universal serial bus port.

For server use, the most significant improvements are those that will allow Linux to
take
better advantage of multi-processor systems -- a key element in creating more powerful
Linux servers.
