About Unico
During the past 14 months, Unico (www.unicoholdings.com) has transformed itself from being an Internet incubator to an innovative multimedia corporation focusing on the acquisition and development of interrelated news and media entities.  Unico today owns two operating subsidiaries and has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a third company.  

The Company acquired as of July 1, 2000 a local newspaper in northern New Jersey, The Independent News (www.indynews.com), which entity is the platform for further acquisitions of additional newspapers and magazines.

Our unique revenue sharing model and concept enables each of our client newspapers to increase their own revenue by utilizing TheLocalTimes, which simultaneously will provide turnkey web applications and hosting services to the newspaper and its customers.  

Unico's upcoming third subsidiary, Merrimac Publisher Manager (www.merrsoft.com), a completely integrated software system designed to manage all the sales, circulation and financial activities of small-to-medium-sized newspapers and magazines.  Overall, Unico operates in a niche, where it has created a unique concept within the highly fragmented, but profitable, segment of weekly newspapers.
