To which band is he referring? His own company (Mirchi) has been at the
forefront of preventing allocation of frequencies for public use, instead
wanting to hog it all himself (well, his company, anyway), and while doing
that, to wrest concessions from the Ministry carefully crafted to kill all
public radio in the country.

Subject: [cr-india] Release more spectrum on FM frequencies: Ficci

While welcoming the government’s approval for liberalising some rules in the
existing FM radio policy, Parigi said "the crying need of the hour is to open
up more frequencies in the bigger cities but that this can only be done by
releasing more spectrum and vacating a band reserved worldwide for FM
frequencies."
