This is wonderful news. With PARD Vaanoli going on air on 2 August, we have had at least four CR launches in the south in less than a month.
'Kalanjiam Samuga Vanoli' (Dhan Foundation) went on air in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu on 12 July, while 'Radio Mattoli' (Wayanad Social Service Society) was launched in Dwaraka, near Mananthvady, Wayanad, Kerala on 25 July. 'Namma Dhwani' (MYRADA) started broadcasting in Budikote, Kolar District, Karnataka, two weeks ago -- the exact date of launch in not known. With GOPA (Grants of Permission Agreement) already signed by Barefoot College (Social Works & Research Centre, Tilonia, Rajasthan), SMART Radio (Nuh, Mewat, Haryana), AID (Garhwa, Jharkhand), SEWA (Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat), Abid Ali Khan Trust (Hyderabad), Young India (Konark, Orissa) and others, things are finally beginning to look up for community radio in India. Heartiest congratulations to all of you. You make us proud. warm regards, Sajan On Fri, Aug 7, 2009 at 12:18 PM, James Madurai <[email protected]>wrote: > Dear sajan, > > PARD has started its test broadcasting from the 2nd of August and hope to > officially start during the first week of September. > > PARD VAANOLI is the name of our Community Radio Station.
