On windows, at least with 7zip, this can be extracted by : - right-click > 7-zip > extract to ...- rename extracted file '*.tar', '*.zip', '*.gz' .... whatever extension you fancy as long as your unzipping software sees the file as an archive.

No idea whether this is really a tar.gz or something that has just been gzipped twice though.
Denis, could you update your script to either make the real compression format apparent, or gzip it only once? This will make it easier for everyone to look at it. As Ed says, people will simply ignore this if they can't read it without researching on the file format first ...
