The org.eclipse.equinox.log implementation and API has been included in the Equinox framework since the Indigo release. As such the old org.eclipse.equinox.log has been untouched and not maintained over the years. For Neon we are removing this bundle from the Equinox release and do not plan to build it in future builds. Please voice any concerns you may have about this removal in the bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=491565 David has informed me that the riena project appears to have a dependency on this bundle (using require-bundle?).
