AFAIAA it involves a fair amount of manual renaming. See

It would be great if the PMI could be configured with the final
'non-release' artifacts, e.g. RC2, so that all the other little details
like mirrors happen automatically and correctly in the true release
artifacts.

The current EPP builds are really "RC2" builds and not a "R" (GA)
build. That still needs to be done, and will take some more time.
